Philip Au

Philip Dalen Au(, 1916–1993) was a Hong Kong businessman and politician. He was an elected member of the Urban Council of Hong Kong from 1953 to 1959.
Au was born in Hong Kong and was educated at the Ching Hua College. He left for Shanghai in 1936 and joined the Mercantile Bank of India until he left in January 1942. He married Mary Wong in Shanghai in 1943.
Au subsequently returned to Hong Kong in February 1949. He then gradually started his own trading business in Hong Kong.〔(【引用サイトリンク】work=The University of Hong Kong Libraries )〕 He was an active member of the Reform Club of Hong Kong and ran in the 1953 Urban Council election. He also held various honorary positions in the Colony. He held his seat on the Urban Council until retired in 1959 and immigrated to the United States.
He was naturalized in December 1964. He resided in California until his death in 1993 and was buried at Albany, California. His son, Patrick Au, donated most of his father's personal records, business records, documents and press cuttings related to the Hong Kong Reform Club and photos to the University of Hong Kong Libraries.
